Our client is a diverse and fully integrated agricultural group operating across Kenya and Tanzania. They specialize in farming, exporting fresh fruits and vegetables, and processing avocado crude oil. With eight sister companies and an in-house freight division, they are a major player in the agricultural export sector. They are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance operations of their thriving Avocado Oil Division based in Nairobi.
- Financial Oversight & Planning: Develop and execute high-level financial strategies aligned with company goals. Monitor cash flow, capital allocation, and overall financial health. Oversee inventory management systems.
- Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial statements, comprehensive reports, detailed budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict compliance with IFRS and all statutory requirements. Effectively manage both internal and external audit processes.
- Cost Management: Implement controls to optimize departmental costs. Identify financial risks and proactively recommend corrective actions to mitigate them.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Foster a culture of accountability and high performance within the department.
* Experience: Minimum 7+ years in financial management, with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
* Expertise: Deep proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other financial reporting standards.
* Industry: A preferred background in the export, FMCG, logistics, or agriculture sectors is highly desirable.
* Qualifications: Professionally certified as a CPA, ACCA, or equivalent. An MBA is considered a plus.
* Skills: Demonstrates strong leadership, exceptional analytical capabilities, and clear communication abilities.
* Location: Must be currently based in Nairobi or willing to relocate.
